The most celebrated of China’s white teas, Pai Mu Tan – or White Peony – is crafted in the traditional style in Fujian Province. After hand-plucking, the leaves are gently sun-dried or naturally dried indoors, preserving their silvery tips and nuanced flavour. The resulting infusion is softly amber with a delicate, slightly spicy character and smooth, lingering finish—an elegant expression of pure white tea.

Punchy!

I enjoyed drinking silver needles and wanted to broaden my horizons, and I chose this tea. I am still new to tea so the twigginess of the leaves, and some of the leaves being a little crushed had me worried. Needlessly worried in the end, as when i poured my first steep, it was wonderful! the brew was beautifully clear, no muddiness, just plenty of leaf hairs. id describe it like silver needles but more, and with a bit of a peppery, punchy snap. like the littlest amount of astringency, like a cherry on top, not overpowering like a fresh green tea. So smooth and delicious.
